Many eating establishments throughout the Vail Valley offer great spots for après-ski and even late night entertainment. Check the dining section for a complete listing. The location and phone for several of the more popular choices are listed below—a well as a few clubs and additional options for your entertainment pleasure.
The best après ski is naturally right off the hill and in Vail Village, The Red Lion is a terrific spot with live acoustic music and great nachos. Vendetta's is another popular choice.
Another après tradition takes place at Sarah's Lounge in the Christiania Lodge with Helmut Fricker and his squeezebox. Mickey's at the Lodge at Vail features Mickey Poage in this top notch piano bar. The King’s Club at the Sonnenalp has live music nightly as well. And of course, Pepi’s caters to a more refined crowd with live music performed on their heated deck.
In Lionshead, Bart & Yeti’s is a long time local saloon with a great après vibe and Garfinkel’s fills up for happy hour with a great deck overlooking the base of Lionshead. The festivities continue there until late in the night.
For later nightlife, The Tap Room on Bridge Street cater to a movin' and groovin' mature crowd, while across the way, The Club offers live music with frat-style partying. Right near the Covered Bridge, in its latest incarnation, is Samana. This longtime dance club has been revamped into more of a lounge bar scene. The Fubar appeals to a more techno funky dance crowd after après.
A great late night spot in West Vail is the Sandbar Sports Grill featuring a late night menu, pool tables and great live music, often featuring big name acts.
In Beaver Creek, the Coyote Café is the local hot spot for après ski. Or enjoy the musical stylings of Bob Finnie at Splendido, as he plays the piano for diners and loungers alike. At the Grouse Mountain Grill, the incomparable Tony Gulizia plays piano in the bar area. His jazz standards are always a delight.
