Vail
Within
only thirteen square miles, Vail offers many distinctive communities,
each concealing hidden treasures. A serene residential community punctuated
by jagged cliffs and scenic waterfalls, East Vail is the ideal choice
for many homeowners. The Vail Golf Course, perfectly manicured, is a sharp
contrast to the wildly beautiful surrounding White River National Forest.
Situated north of I-70, Sandstone and Lionsridge feature numerous moderately
priced properties within a short walk to the Gondola. West Vail offers
the convenience of easy access to grocery stores, shops, and restaurants,
most directly on the free Town of Vail bus route. No matter where you
choose to live in Vail, a host of hiking trails abound, luring you into
the backcountry.
Vail Village
Vail
Village is a pedestrian village with a fresh, vibrant atmosphere blending
boutiques with renowned restaurants and immediate access to the premier
ski mountain in North America. Vail prides itself on its many one-of-a-kind
events like the free Hot Summer Nights Concert Series, on-going jazz performances,
summer Friday Block Parties, and the winter Thursday Night Lights, an
on-mountain fireworks display. Days are dedicated to exploring the best
trails on the mountain on skis, boards, bikes or feet, depending on the
season. Evenings are spent captivated by the culture of world-class dance
festivals and concerts at the recently renovated Ford Amphitheater Vilar
Pavilion.
Lionshead
With
rapid mountain access on the Eagle Bahn Gondola, Lionshead combines specialty
shops, restaurants and lodging. This area will see a major redevelopment
as view corridors to the ski mountain are re-established and much needed
meeting and lodging facilities are created and updated to meet the future
needs of Vail. Rising property values should be a bonus to this "facelift"!
East Vail
East Vail is a highly popular community for those who really want to feel like they are in the mountains. It is uniquely suited, with high peaks and an alpine ambiance. A favorite among residents of the Colorado Front Range, it is the first community they come to as they drop down from Vail Pass and offers many affordable real estate opportunities.
Lionsridge and Potato Patch
This area is located on the sunny north side of I-70, and has ever-present sunshine and big views of Vail Mountain. Convenient free bus transportation is just steps away from most of the residential properties, making Vail Village and Lionshead easily accessible. Potato Patch sits high above Sandstone and offers birds eye views of both Vail Mountain and the Gore Range in all of their splendor.
West Vail
The western side of Vail proper offers both northern and southern communities, each with a different feel and ambiance. The northern communities offer sunny alpine-style homes, perched high on the hills overlooking I-70 and the surrounding mountains. The Southern side of I-70 features lushly wooded, alpine-like terrain interspersed with open meadows and a residential mix of homes and condominiums. Here you will find the neighborhoods of Intermountain, Matterhorn, Vail Village West and prestigious Highland Meadows.
Minturn
Originally founded during the silver rush of the 1800's, Minturn later became a railroad town and now has an "artsy" flavor with unique antique galleries, shops and restaurants. Some of the homes are authentic (circa 1900's) and still have the charm of yesteryear. The Eagle River winds alongside this picturesque mountain village adding to its charm and beauty.
