Cedar Hammock is a bundled golf community with one of the finest championship layouts in southwest Florida. The residences are thoughtfully planned around beautiful lakes and pristine woods of pines, and cypress trees. The golf course was designed by Gordon Lewis and Jed Azinger and is surrounded by single-family homes and condominiums. Over 50% of Hammock Bay is set aside as open space for wildlife preserve and wetlands. The course is challenging for golfers of all abilities, especially from the back tees. If you don’t like playing over water you may want to avoid this course because there is water on every hole but one!
The Club at Hammock Bay offers other country club amenities for the members which include 4 pools and a spa, served by the Dolphin Bar. For tennis players, there are four lighted Har-Tru tennis courts and a very active tennis program.
Hammock Bay was combined with the Rookery at March, giving its members 2 resort private championship courses. Designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy, is a par 72 Audubon gold-certified sanctuary Championship golf course with 18 individual and distinct holes. Live oak tree-lined fairways and rolling terrain define the course. Undulating terrain and the Gulf of Mexico breezes all combine to make Hammock Bay a challenge that’s becoming a favorite of our returning guests. The contours, shape and orientation of the course greens were designed with the approach shot in mind. Hammock Bay is now open following the completion of a $4.8 Million Turfgrass replacement project. The redesigned course features PlatinumTE paspalum turfgrass, creating more vibrant playability and overall golf experience.
The Rookery course was designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy of Jacobsen and Hardy Golf Course Design and is a haven for bald eagles, alligators, and blue herons. Nestled in shallow wetlands with receptive greens and unforgiving sand traps, it offers 18 challenging holes with immaculate paspalum turfgrass and 7,100 yards of lush fairways.
